Project Details
Jackson College reached out to us to refurb all painted surfaces on two of their larger building on campus. Each building had the original paint job from new construction process. both building had mostly masonry surfaces and upper metal facade around the buildings.
In the case of both buildings we encountered low film thickness on primers used on the masonry surfaces. The original coating was about gone after we chemically treated and pressure washed all surfaces to be painted. The original top coat was very chalky before we pressure washed.
We provided a spec for Sherwin Williams Loxon XP masonry coating which handles the bare masonry well. Loxon XP is a true high performance acrylic coating that builds to high film thickness without running. This allows the surfaces to blend well when dealing with peeling paint spots that contain large areas of bare masonry.
The upper metal facade was coated using Sherwin Williams Super Paint high performance acrylic. Extensive caulking of all substrates was done before completing these 2 buildings.
